Any automation equipment consists of three parts: actuators, sensors, and controllers. When automated equipment suddenly fails to work or there is a malfunction in the work sequence, fault diagnosis must be carried out. 1. Check all power, air, and hydraulic sources of automation equipment Power, gas, and hydraulic supply issues often lead to malfunctions in automation equipment. For example, there is a power supply issue that includes a power failure throughout the entire workshop. Or the power supply is low, the fuse is burnt out, or the power plug has poor contact. When testing automation equipment, the power supply for each device and the power supply for the workshop should be included. Gas source, including the pressure source required for pneumatic devices. Hydraulic sources, including the working conditions of hydraulic pumps required for hydraulic devices in automation equipment. 2. Check if the sensor position of the automation equipment is offset. Due to the negligence of equipment maintenance personnel, some sensors may not be located correctly. If not in place, sensor malfunction, etc. Technicians should regularly check the sensing position and sensitivity of the sensor, and if any damage is found, it should be replaced in a timely manner. Sometimes, due to the vibration of automation equipment, most sensors lose their position after long-term use. Therefore, in daily maintenance, it is necessary to check whether the sensor position is correct, fixed, and secure. 3. Check the relays, flow control valves, and pressure control valves of automation equipment Relays, like magnetic induction sensors, may get stuck after being ironed for a long time, which cannot guarantee the normal circuit of electrical appliances and needs to be replaced. In pneumatic or hydraulic systems, the opening of the throttle valve and the pressure regulating spring of the pressure valve will loosen and slide with the vibration of the equipment. In fact, these devices are the same as sensors, and automation equipment requires daily maintenance of components. 4. Check the connections of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits If no problems are found in the above three steps, check all circuits. Check if there is a short circuit in the circuit wires and if the wires inside the cable tray have been pulled apart by the cable tray. Check for any damage or creases in the trachea. Check if the hydraulic oil pipe is blocked. If there are serious creases in the trachea, technicians should replace it immediately. The hydraulic oil pipes should be replaced together.
